The Sync Radar: Must-Hear Tracks To Cap Off Your Year

The Sync Radar: Must-Hear Tracks To Cap Off Your YearEvery year our Sync team puts together a shortlist of some of their must-hear tracks. The team is constantly working with music supervisors to place songs across spots like Shark Week promo trailers, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, 13 Reasons Why, and so many more. So we thought, hey, why not share some of their playlist jams with our Daily Rind readers?

The eclectic list includes “Let It Happen,” from former Supergrass drummer and songwriter Danny Goffey. According to The Independent, Danny’s “solo output demonstrates the same skillset [he] employed in his former position: cheeky Britpop smarts with bags of zing and raised-eyebrow irony.”

Portland, Oregon singer-songwriter Haley Heynderickx released her debut full-length I Need To Start A Garden, garnering strong praise from NPR, Pitchfork, DIY, and Paste. Labeled by Paste Magazine as best new artist of 2018, her song “Worth It” is a sprawling, emotional, punk-tinged song. From pondering self-worth to navigating relationships, this Filipino-American folk singer released a stunning debut album and “Worth It” is just a taste. As Pitchfork reviewed, “I Need To Start A Garden carves paths through loneliness and confesses long-harbored uncertainty, doing both with the acuity of someone comfortable enough to be honest about her doubts.”

In case you need an extra oomph in your step this week before the holiday break, we’ve got a special one for you. French-Togolese Afro-funk collective Vaudou Game’s third album, Otodi brings the lead single “Tata fatiguée.” A groovy, funky track intertwined with elements of traditional Voodoo and Blues, Vandou Game’s sound is led by Peter Solo — born in Aného-Glidji, Togo, the center of Voodoo culture.
