Premios Lo Nuestro Announce 2022 Nominations

Premios Lo Nuestro Announce 2022 Nominations

The 34th annual Premios Lo Nuestro have revealed nominations for the 2022 award ceremony. Premios Lo Nuestro celebrates the biggest hitters in Latin music over the past year. According to a press release, nominations are based on “airplay on Uforia radio during the eligibility period (October 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021), as well as on streaming and the assessment of a television committee consisting of Music and Entertainment experts.”

This year’s theme recognizes the act of being present, and the presence of music: “Vive El Momento” (Live The Moment). The final Premios Lo Nuestro winners are determined by fan voting at premiolonuestro.com/vota, which remains open until February 7.

Rimas Entertainment received twelve nominations across various categories this year. Bad Bunny received 9 total nominations, including major categories such as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Dominican musician, singer, composer, and producer Juan Luis Guerra 4.40 also received a nomination for Album of the Year for his filmed live performance Entre Mar Y Palmeras (Live). Pop artist Tommy Torres received a nomination for his fifth studio album, El Playlist de Anoche, which featured writing and producing credit from label-mate Bad Bunny.

Argentine trap star Duki has been climbing the ranks for a few years, and received a nomination for New Artist Male. Puerto Rico-born singer and rapper VF7, whose real name is Valeria Fernández, also received recognition with a nomination for New Artist Female.

Premio Lo Nuestro will air live from FTX Arena in Miami on Thursday, February 24 at 7 PM ET on Univision. Find the full list of nominees here and The Orchard distributed partners below.
