Out Today by The Orchard: SHHE, La Energía Norteña, Alex Harris

Check out what new music is out today from Scottish-Portuguese artist and producer SHHE, Regional Mexican Norteña group La Energía Norteña, and R&B/soul artist Alex Harris!

SHHE – Re: (One Little Independent/ MRI)

SHHE, the alias of Scottish-Portuguese artist and producer Su Shaw, presents her brand new album of reworked material and collaborations, Re: out via One Little Independent Records. The remix album follows the debut self-titled EP from SHHE released in late 2019, which made it onto the SAY (Scottish Album of the Year) Shortlist. The new release sees collaborations from rRoxymore, Sophia Loizou, Alva Noto, and more, as they reimagine different aspects from the original project. The release of Re: is also accompanied by new visuals, SHHE explains, “ The film was made by myself and Tommy during the last few months, at a time of anxiety and uncertainty for a lot of people. We wanted to create something that felt meditative, that offers some form of release. Something you can sit down with and lose yourself in.” Listen to Re: , along with the visuals, now.

La Energía Norteña – Diez (Azteca Records)

Ten years of performing together as leaders of the norteña genre calls for a celebration! In honor of their ten-year anniversary as a group, La Energía Norteña releases their new album on October 10 via Azteca Records: Diez. The six-member group is originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, but was founded in Dallas, Texas in 2010 by Adrián Zamarripa and Moisés Cuevas Jr. Soon after their forming, La Energía Norteña began to cross borders, touring all over the United States and becoming one of the most sought-after groups in Mexico. The new ten-track release includes all original songs, written by renowned Norteño genre songwriters such as Latin GRAMMY nominee Salvador Aponte, BMI Latin award winner Keith Nieto, Salvador Hurtado, Alfaro Aylin, and the band’s vocalist Adrián Zamarripa. Celebrate ten years of  La Energía Norteña by listening to their new release, Diez

Alex Harris – Frequency EP (Cross The Line Music)

Inspired by the great soul singers that came before him – Otis Redding, Al Greene, Sam Cooke – Tampa-based soul singer Alex Harris puts a modern take on the classic genre. Harris’ newest project is Frequency, a six-track EP produced by Richard Gottehrer [Blondie, The Go-Gos, The Raveonettes] and Swagg R’Celious [H.E.R.]. With gritty vocals, heart-tugging lyrics, and a modern take on a classic sound, Harris is on his way to claiming his space alongside artists like Leon Bridges and John Legend. Listen to Frequency now, out everywhere.
