Introducing, Michael Vassallo, Creative Video Manager, Film & TV Operations
I’m Michael Thomas Vassallo, and I’m very excited to join the Orchard as Creative Video Manager on the Film/TV team.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, where I attended the University of Pennsylvania and the MFA program in Film and Media Arts at Temple University. I moved to New York in 2012 and got my start in distribution managing digital releases for TLA Releasing. I came to The Orchard after a year on the film festival circuit, working in tech and print traffic for festivals including Rooftop Films, DOC NYC and Tribeca.
Outside of work, I write and direct films. My short Lucy, 4:57 PM opened at BFI Flare in 2013, and has screened across the US. My next project in development is a short horror film. In my spare time I enjoy lying on the beach, playing tabletop RPGs, collecting VHS tapes, and yelling at the TV during RuPaul’s Drag Race.
