Nore Davis – LIVE From the Comedy Trap House (Blonde Medicine, LLC)
New York City-based comic Nore Davis has released his fourth full-length comedy album, LIVE From the Comedy Trap House via Blonde Medicine, LLC. The comic’s new release is unlike any other release before, if only for the medium at which it was recorded: entirely on the video chat platform Zoom. In response and reflection of the current times, Davis felt called to capture the moment and make something in the midst of these extraordinary phenomena. On releasing a comedy album during unprecedented times, Nore says “we will be reminded to laugh and allow ourselves to experience joy for 51 minutes. Once you finish the album, let’s get back to work by continuing the fight to destroy racism in our own country! Love, Laugh and Live.” Listen to LIVE From the Comedy Trap House now, then get back to work.
The Soft Music Box – Soulful Sleep (Gold Fever Records)
For those with little ones, children’s lullabies can be the saving grace for helping your child fall asleep. Swedish record label Gold Fever Records created The Soft Music Box to bring qualitative lullaby content to caregivers, while also bringing more POC representation to the children’s music genre. Soft Music Box’s second release Soulful Sleep builds on recent social and cultural movements by providing much-needed representation for children of color. From the producers behind Ava Max, R3HAB and Mansionair, the album features tender, exquisitely orchestrated renditions of classic Motown & Soul songs by artists like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Gold Fever Records set out to make “lovely, recognizable lullabies sound the best way possible, and performed by the best musicians and artists.” Portions of proceeds from album sales will be donated to the The Black Youth Project. Help your little one fall asleep to quality, meditative lullabies with The Soft Music Box’s new release, out now.
