This Friday’s post is an extra special one. This week, we’re giving thanks to family, friends, and something we value highly here at The Orchard: music! Today’s line up is suited for fans of all shapes and sizes. Read on and listen up.

Arlo Parks – Sophie (Beatnik Creative)

With over 500k monthly listeners on Spotify, 19-year-old artist, Arlo Parks, continues to grow as an artist. Her “deeply introspective,” second EP, Sophie, has arrived. The London artist, is both a poet and a musician. Parks explained to Billboard, that she grew up “uncool” and did not fit within the box of her peer’s expectations. Growing up as “self-confessed tomboy,” Parks evokes an honest vulnerability making her music distinctly captivating and relatable. The pain, discomfort, excitement and fear of being a young adult along with her personal experience with sexuality, are all present in her music. Also reflected in her sound are her influences that include Kendrick Lamar, Jimi Hendrix, and David Bowie.

Check out Sophie to hear what The Line Of Best Fit described as “sensitive, precise and intimate.”
