INSTANT LOVE kicked off March 8th on International Women’s day with “Kind Woman” performed by Erin Durant. The project is a collection of famous love songs that were originally sung by men about women, reimagined with female vocalists. The songs apply to mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, lovers, and everything in between.
The brain child of Allison Zatarain and Richard Gottehrer, the tracks are continuously released via Instant Records. As part of The Orchard, Instant Records is able to experiment with distribution efforts. In a single-driven market, how do you promote a full album (or more) of tracks?
INSTANT LOVE breaks the mold and instead of restricting themselves to the previous confines of the physical business, all songs will be released weeks apart and added to the INSTANT LOVE playlists creating a “living album.” The playlists will continue to grow with each new track and will be shared, drawing eyes back to the full list for fans to collectively stream after every new release. A beautiful rendition of “Crazy Love” debuted March 24th sung by legendary performer, Irma Thomas. The release kicks off the playlists and with more tracks on the way INSTANT LOVE has no end in site.
While celebrating women, INSTANT LOVE also celebrates infinite creativity and experiments with a shifting music industry model. The project has only just begun. You can expect more songs to come including “Light My Fire” by Fallulah which will be added to the playlists April 7th, along with every other digital platform globally.
