In Memory of The ‘Father of the Drums’ WS Holland

In Memory of The ‘Father of the Drums’ WS Holland

It is with our greatest sympathy that we honor the late WS “Fluke” Holland who recently passed at the age of 85.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Holland will be remembered for his incredible talents as a drummer. Best known as the ‘man behind the man in black’ WS Holland performed for Johnny Cash as a member of The Tennessee Three. Prior to working with Cash, Holland got his start performing alongside Carl Perkins, and The Million Dollar Quartet (alongside Elvis Presley).

Recognized in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the “Father of the Drums” was the first ever to play a full set of drums at the Grand Ole Opry in the Ryman Auditorium.

The Orchard would like to share our deepest condolences for MS Holland’s family, friends, colleagues and fans.
