A Virtual SXSW Kicks Off

A Virtual SXSW Kicks Off

It’s that time of year again, except, well, virtual. SXSW will kick off this week fully online. Taking part within the “Connection in Disconnection” track, The Orchard’s Jennifer Schwartz, who manages a number of creative artist and label digital marketing campaigns, will be moderating a session on how to create organic buzz in a social distant world.

Joined by Amanda Matson (Facebook), Mike Baldo (Wayward Creative), and Francesca Caldara (UNIFIED), speakers will discuss how, in a time of COVID-19, artists have had to adapt to creating buzz and fan engagement from the road to at home. While artists have faced a number of challenges, this time has presented new ways to connect with fans authentically. The session will unpack concrete ways artists can organically tell their stories and grow their audiences in a socially distant setting. They’ll walk through recent innovations and findings in technology and digital marketing to take music releases to a new level.

Be sure to join the conversation “Creating Organic Buzz in a Socially Distant World” on March 16 at 11:15am ET / 10:15am CT. The session will also be made available anytime after that time for the duration of SXSW.

We are all missing the live music scene right now. Here are some artists from around the world to make you feel a little bit closer to the music.
