Congratulations to two of our very own Orchardites, Mitch Dudley and Naji Grampus, on being listed in the 2020 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players feature!
Mitch Dudley, Label Management Director at The Orchard, has worked closely with G Herbo (Machine Entertainment Group), whose single “PTSD” went platinum, selling 60k in the first week and debuting in the Billboard Top 10. The one word that comes to mind when Mitch thinks of R&B / Hip-Hop culture, he says, is “Trendsetting: That’s who we are – ‘trendsetters.’ That’s what we do – ‘set trends’! Whether it’s the shoes on your feet, or that new place to eat, your decision to consume was probably triggered by a line you heard in a Rap or R&B song.”
Naji Grampus, Director of Urban Strategy at The Orchard, was an integral part of signing Baby Keem in October 2019, whose single “Orange Soda” went platinum. Another major accomplishment for Grampus was Joyner Lucas’ ADHD debuting in the Billboard Top 10. In his “spare” time, Naji is the host of the interview series Cigar Talk under Rap Radar, where he holds in-depth conversations with iconic and rising Hip-Hop and R&B artists, previous guests being 50 Cent, Killer Mike, and G Herbo, to name a few.
Congratulations again to these two gentlemen on their well-deserved recognition in continuing to sign and break some of the biggest artists in the industry. Continue setting trends and the fans and listeners will follow.
