Organized and awarded annually by CAPIF (Argentina’s music producers organization), Premios Gardel celebrates Argentina’s top musicians across a wide variety of genres. Last Friday, the winners of the 2020 Premios Gardel were announced and The Orchard is proud to celebrate our distributed content earned 12 awards across 9 leading labels.
After a great run in various freestyle competitions, including 1st place at the international Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos 2018, WOS gained the attention of the Argentine music industry and released his debut album Caravana in October of 2019. The album was an incredible success, as reflected in this year’s awards, setting WOS as a top winner of the event. The newcomer earned four Gardel awards including Mejor Nuevo Artista. The single “Canguro” skyrocketed WOS to an even wider audience, eventually earning the young star Canción del año and Mejor Álbum / Canción de Música Urbana / Trap. With powerful lyrics and a hook that was made to stick, the video alone earned more than 140 Million views. Eager for more music from this talented artist? The new EP from WOS, TRES PUNTOS SUSPENSIVOS is out now.
