There were many great updates on social media platforms last year. What better way to start the new year than with the key takeaways we learned from? Below are highlights that can easily be implemented in your marketing efforts to engage your fans.
Twitter Polls: You can now easily ask your followers their opinions by creating polls when composing your tweet. Released a new album and want to know what your fans favorite tracks are? Tweet a poll!
Live video broadcasting: Verified pages can share live video using Facebook on iOS. People who “like” your page can see your broadcast in News Feed as well as notifications, they are also able to view the video later if they missed your broadcast — it will live as a post on your Page.
Music Stories: Song previews can be played in News Feed on iOS (rolling out to web soon). You can even scroll and continue to listen to the snippets. These Music Stories are streamed from Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Napster, Rhapsody and NPR.
Boomerang: Who doesn’t love a good GIF!? Boomerang steps it up a notch and allows you to weave photos together into a short video that will play forward and backward on Instagram.
This is only a sampling of launches in 2015; Pinterest introduced Buyable Pins, Tumblr rolled out Audio Posts on mobile, Vine introduced Snap to Beat, and Snapchat gave us the animated selfie with Lenses. I can’t wait to see what 2016 will bring!
