Introducing Samantha Klinger, Client Manager, Film
I’m Samantha, a new Client Manager in the New York film department and I’m very excited to be joining the team.
I graduated from Ithaca College as a Theatre Arts Management major. After graduation I took a road trip with two of my best friends across the country to live in Los Angeles where I worked at a film distribution company called Strand Releasing, that specialized in distributing foreign films within the U.S. Working at a small company I was able to have my hands in various responsibilities, attend fun film festivals and develop a passion for independent film.
I knew I wouldn’t be in LA forever and after 4 years of fish tacos, champagne sunsets and the Tupac hologram at Coachella, I felt like my time was up. I made strides back into the New York workforce starting at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, a co-working space and exhibition venue in DUMBO. I helped develop the first marketing plan for the space which was created to encourage collaboration between filmmakers and new media tech startups. Constantly looking for growth I ended up at Sawyer Studios, a boutique marketing agency for film in the Flat Iron District, where I managed print advertising campaigns for clients like The Orchard.
Eager to jump back into distribution, I am happy to find myself among such a welcoming community of entertainment professionals that continues to grow by the minute.
