School is back in session, days are getting shorter and soon (hopefully) the temperature will begin to change. Whether you’re going to miss the summer or you’re looking forward to the crisp fall, we’ve got a season packed with fresh new music from The Orchard’s wide array of labels and artists. Rock out to humorous hard rock with DC natives, Clutch; live it up with country-pop charmer Abby Anderson and chill to the smooth flowing rhymes of Mayzin, Out Today.
A band that has been around longer than some of our interns, Clutch, is back on the scene with their twelfth full length, Book Of Bad Decisions via Weathermaker Music. A refreshing twist away from the anxieties of political trends, the hard rock album is actually sprinkled with a variety of humor… even including a recipe for a local crab dish. Writing together since childhood, Fallon credits some of his inspiration to his children, telling Glide Magazine,”…when you’re suddenly given responsibility to explain the universe to another human that doesn’t understand anything, you’re forced to look at the world with a fresh pair of eyes.” Experience the heavy rockers with goofy twist in the video for “In Walks Barbarella” and listen to the new album, Book Of Bad Decisions, out now.
Talent, charisma, radiant positivity… is there really anything Abby Anderson doesn’t have? The Black River Entertainment artist has hit the country music scene in a big way, sharing a label with Kelsea Ballerini and the stage with household names like Chase Rice. Her much anticipated EP I’m Good is out now featuring her much-loved single, “Make Him Wait.” Following a huge radio tour, the track has already reached over 2.5 million streams. As she continues to promote her passions and connect with fans, Abby’s most recent project was alongside the Buffalo Bills and was shared just last night across the team’s social channels and stadium Jumbotron. A stunning recreation of the timeless classic “House of The Rising Sun,” her iteration perfectly captures the inspirational hype of the NFL team. Pegged the CMT’s Next Women of Country for 2018, check out I’m Good and follow along as her sure-to-be massive career continues to unfold.
Kicking off his career with a slew of singles, Mayzin has drawn together his flows, developing his first full length album, Flights To Nowhere via Litt Music. Based in Oakland, Mayzin combines contagiously tasty beats with textural R&B rhythms to form his sound. Featuring tracks produced in collaboration with Pink Slip, Flights To Nowhere is sure to catch attention from the hip-hop and rap industry following Mayzin’s previous features across The Fader, Earmilk and more. Take a listen to “Zo Flow (Prod. KMB)” below and hear what HipHopOnDeck states, “…echoes the trailblazing nature of the progressive hip-hop act, and is sure to be a big step in his ascension into a household name in the dynamic realm of hip-hop.” Find the new album Flights To Nowhere for stream and download.
