The Orchard is proud to announce the signing of South African singer-songwriter, artist and poet, Busiswa, also known as Busi.
Fresh from an impressive performance in the infamous Beyonce visual Black is King, the queen of dance Busiswa launches her first single through her own label Majesty Music Entertainment, SBWL. Produced by DJ Clap, the single is a sultry summer collaboration with fellow dance queen Kamo Mphela. SBWL is a word to express a “craving” and the video shows the two dance queens expressing their craving for amapiano music, a style of house music that emerged in South Africa.
In her own words, Busiswa says, “SBWL is local township lingo that South Africans have made popular on social media. This kind of song, this kind of collaboration between two dance queens is important and relevant at this time because there is a notion out there that females don’t want to collaborate with each other so I am excited to be releasing this with Kamo.”
Here at The Orchard, we’re looking forward to Busiswa’s new project, which will feature many producers like DJ Maphorisa, Kabza da Small, Mas Musiq, Dj Clap, Pex Africah, and Nigerian Producer, Dunnie. Busiswa continues, “This project is about me taking up space and claiming my place in the industry and becoming not just a features girl but being more than that – a female who stands her own ground, on her own and her own projects. I am excited for people to hear it.”
