The Orchard announced today details around the global distribution for London-based record company Ignition Records, and their associated labels Big Brother Recordings and Sour Mash Records. This will be the first time the company has entrusted the distribution of their extensive catalog to a single company. Ignition is home to Big Brother Recordings, which houses legendary band Oasis’ catalog and songwriter Noel Gallagher’s label, Sour Mash Records. Ignition Records’ own catalogue includes albums from artists like the Stereophonics, Primal Scream, Joe Strummer, Courteeners, The Coral and more.
The first release with The Orchard, currently sitting at No. 2 on UK’s midweek chart, will be a special vinyl reissue of Oasis’ (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, UK’s fifth biggest selling album of all time, on the 25th anniversary of the album’s initial release on October 2nd. After releasing their first three albums Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now, Oasis started their own record label, Big Brother Recordings. Under the label, the band went on to release four multi-platinum studio albums throughout the following decade.
