The Jungle Giants – Love Signs (Amplifire Music)
The Jungle Giants showcase their trademark alternative dance-pop hooks in their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Love Signs, released today via Amplifire Music. Since their formation in 2011, the Australian band has released many indie-dance hits with three full-length albums and two EPs. Love Signs is shaping up to be one of Australia’s biggest releases this year, featuring fan favorites such as “Treat You Right,” “Heavy Hearted,” and “Sending Me Ur Loving.” The group’s upcoming album is hot on the heels of their single “Treat You Right,” which has already racked up millions of streams and an ARIA nomination for Best Song of the Year. The Jungle Giants also found huge success on their album’s singles, with both “Heavy Hearted” and “Sending Me Ur Loving” placing 8th in Triple J’s Hottest 100. Sam Hales, the sole producer and writer of Love Signs, explains the album’s title: “little messages we send each other, love signs that take on the forms of texts, tweets, and tags.” Not only was making this album “really self-affirming” for Hales, but its success already indicates that it will likely be The Jungle Giants’ most successful yet. Tommy Torres – El Playlist de Anoche (Rimas)
Multi-GRAMMY Award winner Tommy Torres presents his first album in nearly a decade, El Playlist de Anoche. Since his 2012 release, the Puerto Rican musician has developed and grown both as a person and an artist, a combination that makes him one of the most outstanding and current performers on stage. This past Thursday, Bad Bunny announced that he is a co-writer of El Playlist de Anoche, a surprise that coincides with the Premios Juventud in Miami where Tommy Torres premiered his newest album in anticipation of today’s release. While Bad Bunny executive-produced Jowell & Randy’s album, Viva el Perreo, peaking at No. 5 on Top Latin Albums, his collaboration with Torres is his first run at producing outside the Urbano genre. As he is an artist known for seamlessly veering between genres, Bad Bunny’s decision to step outside his usual sound did not surprise Rimas Entertainment CEO and Bad Bunny’s manager Noah Assad, who told Billboard “I can’t say I was surprised, because Bunny always keeps me on my toes…He’s always reinventing and thinking of new ways to explore into a different world and when he told me about this one, I literally jumped up in excitement. It’s something that, as always, no one sees coming.” Torres describes the creative process of working with Bad Bunny for two weeks straight in a West Hollywood Airbnb, writing and producing the nine songs on Torres’ latest studio album. Torres tells Billboard, “Benito is a new influence, and he has no limits when it comes to creativity,” says Torres. “And that’s how it has to be. If not, we’d be doing mathematics, not art.” As for Torres, his own incredible creativity and musical talent has led to past collaborations with artists such as Ricardo Arjona, Ednita Nazario, Jaci Velásquez, and Ricky Martin. Tommy Torres’ comeback album is expected to make waves in the music industry, where his notable production work has already landed him titles such as “#1 Hot Latin Tracks Producer” by Billboard Magazine, and “Composer of the Year” by ASCAP.
