From Portland, Oregon to Germany to Brazil. Check out what new releases are out today from The Orchard distributed artists.
Lina Maly – Winter (Drei Tulpen Records)
Following her 2020 EP Hush Hush / Hamburg – an enchanting mix of withdrawn arrangements and acoustic reductionism – German singer-songwriter Lina Maly presents her new EP Winter. Maly’s music combines Hip-Hop influenced production with singer-songwriter melodies accompanied by delicate vocal harmonies and melancholic lyrics. Winter was produced alongside Hip-Hop producer Dead Rabbit (Marteria, Peter Fox & Samy Deluxe) to create a four-track project that offers two distinct perspectives between Lina Maly and Dead Rabbit. Listen to Winter out now via Drei Tulpen Records.
Typhoon – Sympathetic Magic (Roll Call Records / House Arrest)
Portland indie-rock group Typhoon present their new album Sympathetic Magic (Roll Call Records / House Arrest). Sympathetic Magic is the band’s follow up to their critically-acclaimed 2018 album Offerings, which was followed by extensive touring and sold-out shows across North America, UK, and Europe. At the end of October, leading up to the US election, Typhoon released their stand-alone single “Welcome to the Endgame.” Sympathetic Magic was written over the last few months in lockdown and came as a surprise to fans on Friday morning. Lead singer Kyle says on the album, “The songs are about people – the space between them and the ordinary, miraculous things that happen there, as we come into contact, imitate each other, leave our marks, lose touch.”
