Lean Chihiro –Teenage Humanoid (Chez Ace)
20-year-old French artist Lean Chihiro expresses herself through multiple creative mediums, from music to visual art to modeling. The latest work from Lean Chihiro comes in her new EP Teenage Humanoid, out now via Chez Ace. Across the eight tracks of Teenage Humanoid, listeners can hear Lean’s influences from across genres: Trap in “Pull Up”, Reggaetón in “Ice Cold Bubble Tea”, and Japanese pop music and culture in “To The Max,” which has Lean singing between English and Japanese. On the intent of the EP Lean says, “The goal of this EP is to motivate people to trust themselves, accept all the aspects of their personality.” Listen to the full Teenage Humanoid now, out everywhere.
Samia – The Baby (Grand Jury Music)
New York based singer-songwriter Samia presents her debut album, The Baby, out now via Grand Jury Music. Samia first discovered songwriting at the age of fifteen, finding inspiration from artists such as The National and Nirvana. Between New York and Los Angeles, she began playing open mics to anyone who would listen. She worked her way to eventually supporting acts like Donna Missal, Hippo Campus, Cold War Kids, and Soccer Mommy, and in 2019 she played her first sold out show at the iconic New York venue Rough Trade. The Baby consists of twelve original songs, from carefree “Big Wheel” to grungy yet delicate “Stellate.” Throughout The Baby, Samia combats her vulnerabilities with fearlessness and maturity, using her struggle against loneliness to create a breathtaking debut.
Luan Santana – Confraternização da Família Santana 1 EP (LS Music Produções Artisticas Ltda.)
Brazilian singer-songwriter Luan Santana has released the first EP from his new project, “Confraternização Família Santana.” Divided into three EPs, the first release, Confraternização Família Santana EP 1, features six re-recordings of classic Sertanejo music. The songs act as a tribute to the artists who paved the way before him, including Bruno & Marrone, Cezar & Paulinho, Chitãozinho & Xororó, Gian & Giovani, João Paulo & Daniel and more. As seen on the album cover art, the title of Luan Santana’s project comes from the handwritten title Luan’s father put on the family’s homemade VHS tapes: “Confraternização Família Santana.” In a full circle moment, Luan Santana recorded the project back in December in a small farm town reunited with his friends and family.
