Sir Chloe – Party Favors (Terrible Records)
Sir Chloe first formed in their college days in Vermont, when vocalist/guitarist Dana Foote linked up with guitarist Teddy O’Mara. Sir Chloe’s new EP Party Favors consists of nine songs from the Los Angeles-via-Vermont duo, featuring previous singles “Animal”, “Easy On You,” “Too Close,” and more. Foote’s eclectic background finds her crossing her more traditional rock touchpoints with the intimate songwriting of contemporaries like Mitski, Lianne La Havas, and Andy Shauf. Her formal academic training shows itself, too: she cites Igor Stravinsky, Sofia Gubaidulina, Claude Debussy, and Béla Bartók among her influences. COLLiDE described their sound as “pushing the boundaries of alternative music with edgy melodies that draw from rock contemporaries, yet show an inspired classical training.” Listen to Party Favors out now via Terrible Records.
