Happy Friday! This week we’re back with a brand new hip-hop drop from a reunited trio, a new album from BABYMETAL and much more. As always, theres a genre that’ll cater to anyone. Trust us, these artists definitely brought the heat this week.
Curren$y, Trademark Da Skydriver, Young Roddy -Plan of Attack (Babygrande Records Inc)
This New Orleans hip-hop trio releases their long awaited full-length album, Plan of Attack courtesy of Babygrande Records Inc. Fans across the globe have been eager to listen to this collaboration from the three core members of Jet Life. It’s an exciting time for the fans since the trio’s previous union years ago was brief and ultimately each member pursued solo projects. Now, close to 5 years later, they’re back and better than ever with their new album and title track, “Plan of Attack.” Curren$y tells Hotnewhiphop, “It’s long overdue yet it’s right on time, absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
Not only do fans get an album, but they can also expect an upcoming 20-city nationwide tour with dates to be announced soon. Rejoice and listen to Plan of Attack here!
BABYMETAL – Metal Galaxy (Cooking Vinyl)
Japanese kawaii metal band, BABYMETAL release their album Metal Galaxy (Cooking Vinyl). Suzuka Nakamoto (Sumetal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and former member, Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) were inspired by the “Fox God” which they often represent in their performances, photos, and this new album. BABYMETAL really began to kick off back in 2014, touring with Guns N’ Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their hit song, “Gimme Chocolate!!” received a lot of attention and drew a large fanbase from all around the world. This album includes some songs that have an electronic vibe along with their original, classic BABYMETAL metal sound.
The group is currently headlining their very first U.S. tour, making stops at iconic venues, like The Forum in Inglewood, CA. This show is bound to be one for the books. Get tickets here!
The Dead South – Sugar & Joy (Six Shooter Records)
The Canadian group, Dead South is back with their third studio album, Sugar & Joy via Six Shooter Records. This upbeat, instrumental and versatile album can definitely bring a Western vibe anywhere you play it. The ability for this group has to transition in style from song to song is a treat to experience live. Described as “folk-bluegrass,” the group told Billboard, ““We’re really proud of the instrumentation on our new album. With the first two records, we were still figuring out how to fit it all together.”
