As Latin music continues to dominate worldwide charts, Billboard has announced its nominees for the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards. We are happy to see over 25 artists and labels distributed by The Orchard recognized for their achievements! Closing out LatinFest+, Billboard’s three-day immersive experience of Latin culture and music, the award show will undoubtedly include star-studded performances and whirlwind excitement for fans everywhere.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas on April 23, 2020 and will stream live on Telemundo.
Spread across 59 categories, Billboard recognizes the versatility of Latin music, including Regional Mexican, Tropical, Latin Pop, and Latin Rhythmic artists throughout its nominations.
The Urban presence is felt throughout all of the categories and acknowledges the willingness of Latin music’s top artists to introduce urban flares to their music. The dominance is such that tied for the most nominations this year is one of Urban Latin music’s biggest artists Ozuna!
As the artist with the most wins in a single year after taking home eleven awards at the 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Ozuna is looking to win big again this year. Following the massive success of his hit “Baila Baila Baila,” the launch of his new album Nibiru (Aura Music), and his features on other hit songs, Ozuna has been nominated for Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. He will also be participating at the LatinFest+ this year, sharing a behind the scenes experience for artists, fans, and executives.
Anuel AA (Real Hasta La Muerte) stands alongside other powerhouses with 11 nominations, including Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, and Airplay Song of the Year. His features and hits like “Ella Quiere Beber” and “China” give him nominations across eight categories, pitting him up against himself in three.
Natti Natasha (Pina Records) is nominated for both Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female. Daddy Yankee also snags twelve nominations including Songwriter of the Year and Social Artist of the Year.
Congratulations are also in order for the labels and partners that we work with for their nominations, El Cartel, Rimas, Pina Records, and Top Stop. In addition, The Orchard was nominated for Tropical Albums Label of the Year and Tropical Albums Imprint of the Year.
