Ringing in its 20th year, the Americana Music Awards have announced this year’s honorees. Announcements took place May 26th in a socially-distanced setting at Nashville’s National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM). The ceremony will take place September 22, 2021 at Ryman Auditorium as the tentpole event of AmericanaFest. Performers will include the likes of Old Crow Medicine Show, Valerie June and Allison Russell.
The Orchard is excited to see many of our distributed acts on this year’s ballot including Nashville local and Americana staple Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The group has been recognized in three categories including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. The latter category includes Isbell’s own influential musical icon, the late, great, John Prine. The legendary musician’s song “I Remember Everything” was the last song recorded by this beloved talent.
