The winners for this year’s Swedish Grammis have been announced. The awards took place May 3rd at Annexet in Stockholm. Congratulations to Orchard distributed labels and partners on 3 wins!
The Satchi Six artist Bavé won in the Soul/Rnb category for his EP All Stars Aligned. Some of the artist’s earliest musical memories surround dub and reggae culture from his childhood in Gottsunda, Uppsala. It’s the place where he shaped his identity and allowed him to dream big. He wants people to come to his music to explore a vision of their fantasies coming to life.
HOOB Records artist Hederosgruppen received a win in the Jazz category for their album Ståplats. The Jazz band is composed of members Martin Hederos (piano), Andreas Sjögren (reeds), Emil Strandberg (trumpet), Josef Kallerdahl (bass), Konrad Agnas (drums). This is the band’s second album which contains compositions from all members!
Supertraditional AB artist Sara Parkman won in the Folk category for her album Eros Agape Philia which debuted October 2022. Her third album title is inspired by words for love found in Ancient Greek: Eros, the romantic or erotic; Agape, the divine; Philia, the friendly or familial love. The album fuses contemporary Swedish Folk music with Folk, Psalms, Pop, and Protest alongside Parkman’s outstanding songwriting and vocals.
