As one of the most emblematic artists in Mexico’s Hip-Hop/Rap scene, Alemán is well known for his contributions in establishing a new scene for Latin rappers, and putting hip-hop in a whole new mainstream level nationwide. In 2020, he teamed up with American rapper and media personality Snoop Dogg to collaborate on music. Both rappers created a generational bridge between them to collaborate not just as “new artist and legend of the genre”, but as hip-hop colleagues.

With the combination of Alemán’s creative style and Snoop Dogg’s recognizable and laidback hip-hop sound, the duo created “Mi Tío Snoop” – a fast-paced bilingual rap track. “Mi Tío Snoop” was released on Nov 29th, 2020, and it was included in Aleman’s latest album Huracán. 

The Orchard is proud to announce that “Mi Tío Snoop” has now achieved a Platinum Certification in Mexico, which was presented in Alemán’s biggest solo show to date at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes. 

In Alemán’s words, “Snoop Dogg represents for me my school and what the entire West Coast is. I’m from Baja California Sur, Mexico, so I grew up among palm trees, sea, beer, and a lot of weed too… and his music is what we always listened to.”

Says Alemán, “The record that changed my life was ‘Doggy Style.’ It is an album that, until now, remains one of the best albums in the genre. And when I was with Snoop, I was able to talk to him about when he visited Los Cabos alongside Tupac and when they came here to relax.”

Obviously for me this is a dream come true, but when I told this to Snoop, he told me that this was also a dream for him too, because for him the ‘hip-hop dream’ is not over.

“Mi Tío Snoop” was recorded between Snoop’s warehouse, where he develops various artistic projects in L.A, and the city of Monterrey, Mexico, where Alemán and his team worked on their part of the song. The music video for the song was created between Groovy Chaos, a video production agency from Mexico, and Mucho Fresco, a video production agency in California.

Alemán Logra Certificación de Platino por “Mi Tío Snoop (feat. Snoop Dogg)”

Como uno de los artistas más emblemáticos de la escena Hip-Hop/Rap de México, Alemán es conocido por sus potentes contribuciones para establecer una nueva escena para los raperos latinos y poner el hip-hop en un nivel completamente nuevo en todo el país. En 2020, se asoció con el rapero estadounidense y personalidad de los medios Snoop Dogg para colaborar en un nuevo tema. Ambos raperos crearon un puente generacional entre ellos para colaborar no como “nuevo artista y leyenda del género”, sino como colegas del hip-hop y hermanos de micrófono.

Con la combinación de las rimas creativas de Alemán y el reconocible y relajado sonido hip-hop de Snoop Dogg, el dúo creó “Mi Tío Snoop”, una increíble pista de rap bilingüe. “Mi Tío Snoop” fue lanzada el 29 de noviembre de 2020 y fue incluida en el último álbum de Alemán, Huracán.

En palabras de Alemán:

“Snoop Dogg representa mi escuela y todo lo que es la Costa Oeste. Soy de Baja California Sur, México, así que crecí entre palmeras, mar y cerveza, y mucha yerba también, su música era la que siempre escuchábamos.

El disco que cambió mi vida fue “Doggy Style”. Es un disco que, hasta el momento, se mantiene como uno de los mejores discos del género. Cuando estuve con Snoop, pude hablar con él de cuando visitó Los Cabos junto a Tupac y vinieron a relajarse.

Obviamente para mí esto es un sueño hecho realidad, pero cuando le mencioné esto a Snoop, me dijo que también era un sueño para él, porque para él el ‘sueño del hip-hop’ no ha terminado. Fue realmente genial escuchar eso porque al final, escucharlo decir eso me recordó que yo era una parte tan importante de su historia como él de la mía”.

“Mi Tío Snoop” fue grabado entre la bodega de Snoop, donde desarrolla varios proyectos artísticos en Los Ángeles, y la ciudad de Monterrey, México, donde Alemán y su equipo trabajaron su parte de la canción. El video musical de la canción fue creado entre Groovy Chaos, una agencia de producción de videos de México, y Mucho Fresco, una agencia de producción de videos en California.
