The band first began in Montreal and rose to global stardom thanks to the late days of MTV and during the peak pop-punk era. Staples Jr. Singers – When Do We Get Paid (Luaka Bop)
This album is more than the music, it’s a story. The Staples Jr. Singers are a sibling group comprised of Edward Brown, A.R.C. Brown, and Annie Brown Caldwell. The three recorded one album in 1975 in Tupelo, Mississippi titled When Do We Get Paid. It was the first and only record they recorded. The family sold the album directly from their home. Now, with Luaka Bop, the talented family has reissued one of the rarest albums in Gospel history. In celebration, the trio recently played tin New York City, their first performance as a group in nearly 40 years and first visit to the Big Apple.
