Since 1996, the Australian Independent Record Association (AIR) recognizes, promotes and celebrates the success of Australia’s Independent Music sector. The awards facilitate national and international attention for many artists each year. The annual AIR Awards and Indie-Con Australia Conference will return to UNESCO City of Music with the AIR Awards held at the Freemasons Hall, Adelaide on Thursday, October 1. Pending COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony could be broadcast in digital form so be on the lookout for more updates.
Innovation and Skills Minister, David Pisoni, said, “The Indie-Con Australia conference provides the music industry both nationally and locally an opportunity to come together to support each other through these challenging times as well as have important conversations about navigating the future.”
“The AIR Awards will recognise and celebrate the inspiring talent of Australia’s independent artists during what has been a tough time for the music industry.”
Congratulations to all the nominees for this year’s AIR Awards!
