The seventh annual Latin American Music Awards (LAMA) announced their 2022 nominations. To no surprise, The Orchard distributed artists swept categories, totaling over 25 nominations.
17-year-old rising Regional Mexican artist Iván Cornejo (Manzana Records) received three nominations including New Artist of the Year, Favorite Album – Regional Mexican, and Viral Song of the Year. In 2021 Cornejo became a viral sensation when his song “Está Dañada” climbed to the top of the charts. The track debuted at No. 7 on Hot Latin Songs and reached No. 3 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart. “Está Dañada” debuted at No. 96 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, which according to Billboard, is only the second time a Regional Mexican hit has ever landed on the chart.
It was an Orch takeover in the Favorite Album – Tropical category, as every spot was secured by one of our distribution partners: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico – En Cuarentena (Rimas Entertainment), Luis Vazquez – Comienzos (JAK Entertainment), and Sonora Ponceña – Hegemonía Musical (La Buena Fortuna Music).
