Athens-based independent record label Stay Independent is a dominant force in the Greek music market. Week-to-week, Stay Independent artists are taking over trending charts and playlists across Greek channels and services.
Recently Greek artists Mente Fuerte, Hawk, and Baghdad made history by receiving the first-ever and only IFPI certified Diamond single in Greece with their song “Caliente,” released via Stay Independent and Offbeat Records. When it was originally released in June 2019, “Caliente” topped the Spotify Greece Top 50 chart and Apple Music’s Greece Top 100 chart. In just two days, the official YouTube video garnered 2.5 million views. Two years later, “Caliente” has amassed over 61 million YouTube views.
The 28-year-old rapper, writer, and performer Hawk has been breaking records left and right this past year. In January, the rap artist set the record for receiving the most Spotify streams of a Greek track ever on its release date for his collaboration with Light (Capital Music / Panik Records) on their single “Voodoo.”
