As 2009’s harsh winter months fade, The Orchard Metal Newsletter returns to keep the deep freeze going with a gusty chill only our favorite metal acts can offer. Indeed, take a look at the next couple weeks of releases for an awe-inspiring slate of subzero slaying. Our monthly faves: dramatic power metal courtesy of Gothenburg goliaths Hammerfall, and over-sexed fist-pumpers from Ministry offshoot Revolting Cocks. Free tracks this month come courtesy of thrashers like Crimfall and Leaves' Eyes, with visceral visuals being provided by The Burning, Trepalium, Septicflesh and Hammerfall. As for exclusives, there’s an available-here-and-only-here remix of the track "Cousins" from the new RevCo, along with another remix of material from their highly anticipated new LP Sex-O Olympic-O. On the horizon? Hammerfall and RevCo can look forward to sharing the spotlight with crushing releases from Winterborn, Hatesphere, and the ultra-extreme War From A Harlots Mouth. Gothenburg power metal greats Hammerfall are on the brink of releasing their seventh crushing long-player, No Sacrifice, No Victory. To celebrate, the five-piece are giving us a taste of the upcoming wrath with Any Means Necessary, a five song EP and companion piece. Passionate vocals and a litany of crushing riffage are ever-present on their latest Nuclear Blast release. Featuring the onslaught of the EP's title track (to be featured on the upcoming full length) and four equally as unrelenting album extras, Hammerfall continue to give us reason to be excited for all things brutal and Swedish. Sixth proper full-length from Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen's raunchy industrial side project. Revolting Cocks — RevCo for short — returned in 2006 after a ten plus year hiatus for the star-studded Cocked and Loaded, re-asserting their dominance on the dance-punk scene. Featured on the Saw V soundtrack in 2008, the foursome have responded in ‘09 with 10 more lewd, sex-driven tracks of industrial fervor. With suggestive titles such as "Wizard of Sextown” and “Hookerbot3000,” Jourgensen and company have churned out another slab of lewd, labido-loving loudness.
